This included a large number of sugar pine trees on the north shore. Sugar Pine 7 (abbreviated SP7) is an American production company and comedy troupe. In the Lake Tahoe Basin, 168,000 trees were reported dead in 2017, more than double 2016 figures. Until recently, they were the tallest pine species, but a combination. Evidently it has since died, since in 2022 Taylor reported the tallest living sugar pine as in Oregon. Severe and prolonged drought has resulted in extensive tree mortality in Sierra Nevada forests, with more than 100 million dead trees reported. Sugar pines are the biggest pine species and they have the longest cones of the genus.
